That’s right, you heard me. NO MORE PENCIL SKETCHES!
Admittedly, my pencil sketch have improve these past months; less sketchy, but I need to work harder on my ink skills. The last inked picture I worked on was this picture last year:
Not bad, but I know for a fact I can do better.
My reasons I rarely ink my sketches because it takes too long, and you can see all the little errors I try to hide in my sketches. (Examples: Hands.)
Plus, since I draw a lot pin ups, inking curve lines are hellish.
But I told myself this year is to improve and push myself, and that’s what I’m gonna do.
I'm gonna be very experimental with the inking.
You might see a few pencil sketch here and there, but most likely those sketches will be in my sketch book.
NO MORE PENCIL SKETCH. NO! MORE!
Mashing all pictures into one
I'm gonna mash up all my single sketches into group. Kinda like these:
I see tons of artists mash up all their single sketches, single pin up, faces, pose, into one big picture. I'm going to do this from now on.
UNLESS, the sketch is either:
- Full colored
- A full scene (backgrounds, etc)
Oh, all sketches will be INK too.
Yup, gonna draw more animation. I'm pretty good at copying other animation scenes:
But I rarely sketch any original animation:
I want to work more on my animation skills, mainly more original animation works. I'm gonna study more animation techniques from Hiroyuki Imaishi, Masaaki Yuasa and couple of others. You'll be seeing more copy animation from other animators, but every once in awhile you'll see some original works from me.
Okay, that's all the updates, later.
